• Balkar Singh Sidhu is an Indian politician and singer. He is popular for lending his voice to one of the most famous hits of Punjabi music “Majhe Diye Mombatiye.” In 2022, he became a Member of the Legislative Assembly from the Rampura Phul constituency of Punjab, India.

• Since childhood, Balkar Sidhu was a very athletic student who took part in every sports activity in his school, and he was a fan of Indian athlete Milkha Singh and considered him to be his idol.

• He pursued a Bachelor of Arts at Punjabi University, Patiala; during his graduation, he participated in many extracurricular activities including theatre and singing. He performed many theatre shows for Kissan Union in Chandigarh during his college days.

• In 1991, while Balkar Singh Sidhu was studying in college, he made his singing debut with the album “Karna Chhad De Pyar.”

• He went on to release numerous other albums and the Punjabi song “Din Pepran De.”

• His songs “Maje Diye Mombatiye” and “Vyah” from his album “Laung Taviteriaan” (2003) brought him fame and recognition.

• The songs “Channa Vo,” “Joan,” “Phulkari,” “Aina Tainu Pyar Kran,” and “Viyah are also among Balkar Sidhu’s most well-known ones.

• In the Punjabi music industry, he has made a name for himself by fusing contemporary pop music with traditional Punjabi music.

• He has collaborated with many Punjabi singers including Popsy and Jasmeen Akhtar.

• In 2021, he collaborated with Punjabi singer Gurlej Akhtar on the song “Tera Mora Viah” which became one of his most famous songs.

• He performs live shows during election rallies and at marriage functions.

• In 2005, Balkar made his acting debut with the Punjabi film Chhankata. He has acted in many Punjabi films including Sikander (2013), Desi Munde (2016), and Jatt James Bond (2014).
