  • Ranu Sahu, an IAS Officer of the 2010 batch in the Chhattisgarh cadre, has held the position of a collector in several districts of Chhattisgarh. She gained widespread attention in July 2023 when she was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case related to a coal scam.
  • She demonstrated excellent academic performance during her studies in her school and college.

  • Following her graduation, she embarked on preparing for the Police exams, driven by her fascination with the Police profession since childhood.
  • Upon becoming a DSP in 2007, her father expressed anger as he believed it was unsuitable for girls. Nonetheless, her mother played a vital role in convincing him to support her pursuit of a career in the police force.
  • Her roll number in the 2009 UPSC written examination was 219237. She obtained 103/200 marks in ESS, 160/300 marks in GSS-1, 179/300 marks in GSS-2, 139/300 marks in paper 1 of Optional-1, 44/300 marks in paper 2 of Optional-1, 118/300 marks in paper-1 of Optional-2, and 153/300 marks in paper 2 of Optional 2 exam.
