Some Lesser Known Facts About Abhinandan Singh

• Abhinandan Singh grew up in a middle-class family in Magraura Village, Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh.

• He developed an interest in cricket at a young age and began playing for local teams near his village.

• He took his initial training in cricket from Bharat Cricket Academy in Lucknow.

• Abhinandan moved across states to play cricket for various teams at different levels; one day representing a team at Rajouri in Jammu & Kashmir and another day moving to Punjab to represent another team in a local tournament.

• While studying at Delhi University, he enrolled himself or the Cricket Training Programme at the Delhi Stadium.

• Owing to his excellent bowling skills, he got a chance to represent the Delhi Stadium team in various cricket tournaments.

• After representing various teams in countless smaller leagues, Abhinandan bagged the opportunity to represent DY Patil Red at the DY Patil T20 Cup tournament. Although Abhinandan played only two matches in the tournament, he made sure to leave an impression on the audience.

• In 2018, Abhinandan Singh made his domestic debut for Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy. He took 5 wickets in the tournament.

• Captained by Krunal Pandya and sharing the new ball with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Abhinandan gave a great performance in the 2024 edition of the DY Patil T20 Cup tournament. Playing for DY Patil Red against Income Tax, Abhinandan took the wickets of Chirag Gandhi and Shahbaz Ahmed off consecutive deliveries and claimed the wicket of Vishant More in his next over.

• He was awarded Man of the Match in the final of DY Patil Tournament held in Mumbai.

• His outstanding performance in the DY Patil tournament impressed the selectors of Kolkata Knight Riders who called him to the Eden Gardens as a net bowler for season 2024 of the Indian Premier League.

  

• After his stint with KKR, Abhinandan played for Lucknow Falcons in the Uttar Pradesh Premier League. He claimed 15 wickets in 10 matches of the tournament with an average of 17 and an economy of 7.52.

• His excellent performance in the Uttar Pradesh Premier League caught the attention of many IPL franchises and he was signed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for Rs 30 Lakhs in the IPL auctions.
