During his captaincy, the Delhi cricket team won a championship in the 2007-08 season after a long time.

In that season, he led the semi-finals and final matches of the team with the help of his teammate, Gautam Gambhir.
Mithun Manhas scored 921 runs in that season, with an average of 57.57.


In February 2017, Mithun Manhas started working as an assistant coach for the IPL team Kings XI Punjab. He served in the position till September 2017.
In October 2017, he was appointed as the batting consultant for the Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team. He served in the position till 2019.
In 2019, Mithun Manhas started working as an assistant coach for the IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

In 2022, he became the assistant coach for the IPL team Gujarat Titans.
He has worked in an administrative post with the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).
Mithun Manhas often represents the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association at the BCCI’s annual meetings.

A new body is being made for the next term. Mithun Manhas is a former player and it was decided to make him the president. Arun Dhumal is the chairman of the IPL governing council and he will continue in that position.”
