• In her childhood, she worked at McDonald’s, Afton Alps, and Red Lobster in the USA.

• At a young age, she dreamt of becoming a social studies teacher, veterinarian, or florist.

• While pursuing her degree in education, she worked as a weekend meteorologist at KTVX News in Utah.

  

• Before joining KARE 11, she worked at the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, Utah.

• In September 1993, she joined KARE 11 as a weekend meteorologist and in December 2005, she was promoted to chief meteorologist.

• Later she received the AMS Seal of Approval for broadcast meteorology.

• Some of the shows that she hosted were KARE 11 News Saturday, and Grow with KARE.

  

• She has worked as a feature reporter for Minnesota Bound.

• Other than hosting weather shows she has also hosted shows on fashion, chefs, and authors.

• In 2016, she published some story books such as Weather Clues in the Sky: Clouds (Bel the Weather Girl),  A Snowstorm Shows Off: Blizzards (Bel the Weather Girl), and Spinning Wind and Water: Hurricanes (Bel the Weather Girl).

• She is an avid lover of dogs and owns two Bernese Mountain dogs named Koda and Kenai.

  

• In 2023, she hosted the 20th annual “Humor to Fight The Tumor” event which gathers money for brain tumor research.
