• Initially, Tadeu Schmidt tried to pursue a career in sports after getting inspired by his Basketballer brother Oscar Schmidt and also tried his hand at Volleyball and played a few matches for the Youth Volleyball team in Brazil. However, Tadeu later quit the sports.

• As he was not able to pursue a career in sports, Tadeu Schmidt then decided to become a sports journalist.

• In 1994, he began his TV presenter journey with the Brazilian TV station named ‘TV Nacional’ in Brasília.

• In 1997, he became a sports reporter for TV Globo Brasília on DFTV.

• In 2000, Tadeu was transferred to the headquarters in Rio de Janeiro and he joined the team at the weekly sports magazine named ‘Esporte Espetacular’ and the sports news TV program titled ‘Globo Esporte.’

• On November 14, 2021, Tadeu Schmidt quit the TV program titled ‘Fantástico’ after fourteen years to present the reality show titled ‘Big Brother Brasil 22.’

• In 2022, Tadeu Schmidt became the presenter of season 22 of the Brazilian reality TV series titled ‘Big Brother Brasil’ which was based on the original Dutch ‘Big Brother’ format. The TV series was telecast on the TV Globo channel and Tadeu remained the presenter of the show till 2024. He replaced the journalist Tiago Leifert.
