Some Lesser Known Facts About Bodhisattva Sharma

• Bodhisattva Sharma moved to New Delhi from Guwahati, Assam, along with his family, when he turned 5.

  

• When Bodhisattva Sharma was 10 years old and in fourth grade, he discovered his interest in acting. While attending his brother’s play practice, he was selected for a role in an Assamese theatre play.

• According to him, this experience sparked his passion for acting, leading him to join the Delhi-based theatre group called Little Theatre Group.

• Bodhisattva acted in numerous productions for the Little Theatre Group and received several travel fellowships to perform in different states across India.

• While performing with his theatre group, Bodhisattva Sharma was chosen to play the character Siddharth Chaudhary in the web series Paatal Lok (2020). This marked his debut on OTT platforms.

• In 2021, he acted in the web series Candy (2021) on Voot Select, playing the character Imran Ahmed. He also appeared in Rana Naidu (2023) as Rehaan.

  

•  In September 2022, during his teenage years, he relocated to Mumbai to pursue acting. In an interview, he mentioned that his goal to move to Mumbai was solely to secure good roles and not to seek fame. He said,
  

  I did not come to Mumbai with dreams of becoming a superstar. Seeking popularity has never been a goal. It can be a by-product. Good work is what I like to chase.”

• In 2024, he starred as the main actor in the Bollywood film All India Rank. He portrayed the character Vivek, a 17-year-old aspiring to get into IIT.

  

• The film was shown at several film festivals worldwide, including the International Film Festival Rotterdam, Dharamshala International Film Festival, and Mumbai Film Festival. Bodhisattva’s performance in the film received praise from many.

• In an interview, Bodhisattva mentioned that neither he nor his friends had ever been to Kota, so he prepared for the role by talking to friends of his friends who had studied there. He said,
  

  I don’t have any direct friends who went to Kota to prepare for the IIT entrance exam, so I spoke with friends of friends. They told me about their experiences and shared pictures.I watched a lot of old Hindi films; Varun sir made me check out a lot of old Limca ads. Then there were tons of movie recommendations, ranging from The Breakfast Club to The 400 Blows. I decided Vivek’s favourite film to be Masoom.” ^[2]The Federal

• In 2023, while getting ready for his part in the Bollywood movie All India Rank (2024), Bodhisattva took crash courses in eleventh and twelfth-grade maths and science. He was tutored by Vaibhav Varun.

• In an interview, Bodhisattva mentioned that he was a huge fan of Varun Grover and greatly admired his work. He always dreamed of collaborating with him. He said,
  

  My mom introduced me to Varun Sir’s stand-up comedy. She is a massive fan, she made me watch Masaan, which Varun Sir wrote. I fell in love with that film. I had watched the show Sacred Games but didn’t know that Varun Sir had co-written it. When I learnt that he also wrote songs for films like Gangs of Wasseypur and Udta Punjab, I was even more impressed.”

• Bodhisattva Sharma likes playing football and used to play it when he was in school.

• Bodhisattva Sharma plays several musical instruments like the guitar and piano. He often shares videos of himself singing on his Instagram account.
