Some Lesser Known Facts About Sian Chiong

• Sian Chiong grew up in a family with an acting background in Havana, Cuba.

  

• He is of Chinese descent from his father’s side and of Basque descent from his mother’s side.

• Sian’s father recognised his talent in acting at a young age. Initially, he started acting for fun, and later took professional classes in it. In an interview, while talking about his father, Sian said,
  

  He was the one who told me I had the potential for this, he instilled in me a passion for this medium and he was the one who took me to classes, and I did like the world of acting.”

• Growing up, he was also good at sports like baseball. However, he gave up sports to pursue acting.

• While he was in art school, Sian appeared in the film “Ni pocos, ni locos” for which he was nominated as best young actor of the year.

• While he was studying in the final year of his college, he joined a boy band named Angeles.

• For their debut music album titled Confession, the group members wrote the lyrics of the songs themselves. The album was launched in the international market in June 2011.

  

• As a member of the band, Sian travelled a lot with his group to Mexico, the United States, and Europe. He was associated with the group for around 7 years.

• Meanwhile, he also enrolled himself for an acting course. Soon, after he graduated, he won a role in a teleplay, that marked the beginning of his acting career.

• While he was associated with the band, he won various awards like the most popular artists in Cuba for three consecutive years.

• He sang on the stage for more than 20,000 people, a feat that only a few artists have achieved.

• His band once filled the Karl Marx theatre in Cuba for three consecutive days, selling out in the first 12 hours at the concerts.

  

• Sian, along with his band members, opened 6 concerts for Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias on their tour of the United States.

• In 2018, his band released the song Me Enamoré.

  

• After doing several albums and tours with the band, Sian decided to stay in Mexico and focus on his music and acting. In an interview, while talking about his decision to part ways with the band, Sian said,
  

  Leaving the band was a personal decision, I wasn’t in my best emotional moment. It had nothing to do with the boys, we got along very well, but I didn’t feel connected to the group anymore.”

• In 2018, he appeared in the television series Like in which he played the role of Alan.

  

• He then appeared in the television series like El corazón nunca se equivoca (2019), Súbete a mi moto Joselo Vega (2020), La mexicana y el güero (2021), and Corazón guerrero (2022).

  

• He then decided to release a few songs as a soloist including A tus pies, Dime que me amas, Me mata el dolor, and Señorita.

  

• In 2024, after releasing several singles, Sian released his first EP as a soloist at the KnvL studios in Mexico City, releasing songs like Parisiando and QRLP.

• In the same year, he participated in the reality TV show La casa de los famosos México season 2.

  

• Sian has been featured on the covers of various magazines like Fashion Magazine, Zero Magazine MX, and Revista 762.

  

• He is very particular about his fitness and follows a strict workout regimen.

  

• He is an avid dog lover and posts various pictures with dogs on his social media handles.
