- Her debutant film won National Award (Best Feature Film), it was after 29 years that any Assamese movie won the award at the 65th National Film Awards ceremony.

- Once Bhanita recalled how her cousin and the director of the movie, ‘Rima Das,’ got the idea for the movie. She revealed that Rima was shooting for her first film “Antardrishti (Man with binoculars)” in Kalardiya village when she was fascinated by a group of boys playing with fake handmade musical instruments. “It is then Rima ba told me we will do another film,” she claimed.
- The story of “Village Rockstars” revolves around a 10-year-old girl, ‘Dhunnu,’ who aspires to become a rockstar and own an electric guitar.
- In 2018, her debutant film, ‘Village Rockstars,’ became India’s official entry to the Oscars.
