Some Lesser Known Facts About Mario Bezares

• Mario Bezares grew up in a middle-class family in Mexico City.

  

• While in school, he actively took part in sports.

  

• During his college days, Mario associated himself with the college theatre team and performed in plays like “Jose el Soñador.” He then participated in several theatre plays including Jesucristo Súper Estrella, Grease, and Cabaret.

  

• After pursuing a degree in tourism, Mario Bezares studied to become a chef.

• He also received training in different dance forms like tap and jazz.

• Mario then began working as an assistant choreographer with some artists.

• He then joined acting classes along with El Perro Estrada, Sergio Jiménez, and Héctor Castillo, to learn the basics of acting.

• In 1987, he acted in the Mexican series La indomable.

• Later, he appeared on the television show Anabel! The show was wrapped up in 1993.

• In 1995, Mario participated in the program ¡Pácatelas! on Televisa along with Paco Stanley. In the show, the song ‘El Gallinero,’ was used as a curtain for the commercial segments. Bezares featured in the song imitating a chicken, which was loved by the audience. It soon became a hallmark of the program.

• El Gallinero song became so popular that it was played at almost all kinds of social events, clubs, and discos.

• In 1998, Mario joined Paco Stanley as a presenter for the show Una tras otra on TV Azteca. He then appeared in the comedy show Cachún cachún ra ra!

• In 1999, after Stanley’s murder, Bezares took a break from his career as he was accused of Paco’s murder. Later, after he was acquitted, he appeared in the program Ya llegó Mayito (2001-2002) on TV Azteca.

• In 2001, he released his music album Puro ambiente con Mayito, which included a modified version of the song ‘El gallinazo.’ However, the album did not gain much success.

• In 2006, Mario was hired as the host of the program Acábatelo by Multimedios Televisión de Monterrey.

• Later, he also hosted the show Aficionados (2010-2020).

  

• Once, while Mario was performing on his popular song El Gallinazo on stage, a plastic bag fell from his clothes. Mario immediately picked up the bag and handed it to Paco Stanley. Later, it was speculated that the bag contained cocaine. However, Mario cleared on many occasions that the bag just contained toilet paper or some disposable tissues and telephone numbers.

• In 2024, Mario won the reality TV show La casa de los famosos México season 2.
