Some Lesser Known Facts About Raksha Khadse

• In 2006, when Raksha was 19 years old, she got married to Nikhil Eknath Khandse, a politician and the son of Eknath Khandse. In 2013, Nikhil Khadse shot himself with his licensed gun. Reportedly, in 2010, Raksha’s husband contested against Manish Jain for the legislative council elections in which Nikhil Khadse lost by 16 votes. • In 2010, she was elected as a Sarpanch of Kothali village, Maharashtra. In 2012, she was elected as a member of Zila Parishad, Jalgaon, Maharashtra.

• After Nikhil Khadse’s death, Raksha Khadse’s name was preceded by Haribhau Jawle, a two-term member of parliament of the Bharatiya Janata Party, at the insistence of Raksha’s father-in-law, Eknath Khadse. In an interview, Raksha talked about this and said,
  

  But I never imagined that I would be fighting a Lok Sabha election. I never imagined that my life would take the course that it has. When Nikhil was alive, I looked after my father-in-law’s welfare projects. I was largely focused on rural education. But now that I am here, I have decided to make this my life’s calling.”

•  In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Raksha Khadse contested against Manish Jain of the Nationalist Congress Party from the Raver constituency and defeated him with a margin of 318608 votes.

• In 2014, Raksha Khadse, along with politician Heena Gavit, became one of the youngest members of the Lok Sabha.

• In 2019, she was re-elected for a second term as a Member of Parliament from the Raver Loksabha constituency.

  

• Raksha Khadse’s father-in-law, Eknath Khadse, is an Indian politician and a leader of the Nationalist Congress Party in Maharashtra.

• In March 2022, she attended the 144th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, held in Bali, Indonesia.

  

• In an interview, Raksha said that before her marriage, she was pursuing a course in Interior Designing.
