  • Aman Kumar Singh is a former Indian Revenue Service officer and civil servant who served the Government of Chhattisgarh for over 14 years. He held the position of principal secretary to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, and his tenure in this role is known to be the longest in the history of any chief minister’s secretariat.
  • In 1995, Aman Kumar Singh joined the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and was later posted to Raipur, Chhattisgarh on a deputation; however, he decided to resign from his position in 2014 .
  • Aman Kumar Singh was appointed as Joint Secretary to Chief Minister Raman Singh under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in April 2004. He served in this position for five years until March 2009. Kumar was promoted to the position of Secretary in April 2009 under the same ministry of the Department of Energy, where he served until December 2013. From December 2013 to December 2018, he held the position of Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, overseeing both the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Department of Housing and Environment.
  • Aman Kumar Singh was India’s 5th most powerful bureaucrat according to the 2013 BoI Power List.

  • He was appointed as the director of the boards of four Chhattisgarh State Power companies, i.e., Genco, Transco, Discom, and Holding in April 2009, and he remained in this position until April 2016.
  • Kumar held the position on the board of governors at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) from April 2009 to December 2013 and at the Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT Indore) from July 2013 to December 2018.

  • In May 2009, Aman Kumar Singh joined RattanIndia Power Limited in New Delhi as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO); he served in this position until November 2020. Following this, he was selected as the senior advisor to the board of RattanIndia Power Limited.
  • In November 2022, Aman Kumar Singh was appointed as the Corporate Brand Custodian and Corporate Affairs head of the Adani Group. He was later named as one of the directors to the board of NDTV after the Adani Group acquired the news broadcaster; however, on 9 March 2023, he resigned from his position as an additional non-executive independent director.
