  • During his college days, he was a kabaddi and volleyball player and used to participate in many state-level championships.
  • In college, he won the Southern States championship in swimming and won a gold medal in the 400-meter race and a silver medal in shooting.

  • On the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the President appointed Shripad Naik as Minister for Culture and Tourism (Independent Charge) in the 16th Lok Sabha.

  • Shripad Naik remained the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH and was also appointed Minister of State for Defence on 31 May 2019.
  • On the evening of 11 January 2021, Shripad Naik had a car accident in Ankola, district Karwar, Karnataka. His driver lost control in a ghat area, causing the car to flip into a ditch.
