Some Lesser Known Facts About Sundar C

• Sundar C began his career as an assistant director to the Tamil filmmaker Manivannan.

• He adopted the name ‘Sundar C’ as his professional name on his father’s recommendation.

• In 1993, Sundar made a cameo appearance in the Tamil thriller film titled ‘Moondravadhu Kann’ in which he played the character of a studio assistant.

  

• In 1995, during his directorial debut, Sundar C cast actress Khushbu in the film and that’s how they met. They both fell in love during the shoot and eventually started dating and got married in the year 2000.

• In 1998, Sundar C wrote and directed the Tamil romantic comedy film titled ‘Naam Iruvar Namakku Iruvar.’

  

• In 1999, he was among the 14 directors for the Tamil comedy-drama film titled ‘Suyamvaram.’ The film was planned by Giridharilal Nagpal who brought together 14 major directors, 19 cinematographers, and over 30 leading actors in the Tamil film industry.

  

• In 2004, Sundar C along with his wife Khusbhu Sundar started their own film production company named ‘Avni Cinemax’ which is also operating as Avni Movies and Avni Telemedia. The company’s name is inspired by the first two letters of their daughter Avantika’s name.

• In 2006, Sundar C was cast in the Tamil gangster action film titled ‘Thalai Nagaram’ which was his lead debut film. He played the character of Subramaniam alias Right in the film. He was also cast in the sequel of this film titled ‘Thalainagaram 2’ in 2023.

  

• In 2008, Sundar lent his voice to the song titled ‘Vaadi En’ in the Tamil action comedy film titled ‘Sandai.’

• In 2010, he was cast in the Tamil action comedy film titled ‘Nagaram Marupakkam’ which is also known as ‘Nagaram’ in which he played the character of Selvam. The film was also written, produced, and directed by Sundar C himself.

  

• In the same year, Sundar C lent his voice to the song titled ‘Subaiya Subaiya’ from the Tamil action comedy film titled ‘Guru Sishyan.’

  

• In 2016, Sundar C produced the Tamil comedy horror film titled ‘Hello Naan Pei Pesuren.’

  

• In 2019, he directed and wrote the screenplay of the Tamil action comedy film titled ‘Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven.’
