According to her, Ayushi aspired to be an actor from a young age. She travelled to Mumbai at age 17 in search of acting opportunities for which she lied to her parents about doing a course there.

During her graduation studies in Bengaluru, she got modelling opportunities and started attending auditions for acting.

After she managed to convince her parents to pursue a career in acting, they allowed her to do so on the condition of establishing her acting career in a given time.
