• Narender Berwal is an Indian boxer, who won a Bronze medal in the super heavyweight (+91 Kg) category of boxing at the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China in 2023.

• He is also an Indian Army Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO).

• In 2010, he began his career in boxing. He then joined SAI in Bhiwani, Haryana, where he was trained by his coach Davraj.

• He has won gold medals at many state-level and national-level boxing competitions. His achievements include winning gold medals at the 3rd Youth Haryana State Boxing Championships in Dadri, Haryana (2011), the 44th Youth Men National Boxing Championships in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh (2011), the 38th Junior Men Haryana State Boxing Championships (2012), and the 45th Junior Men National Boxing Championship in Patiala, Punjab (2012).

• In 2012, he made his international debut in the super heavyweight category at the World Youth Championships in Yerevan, Armenia.

• He took part in the 2013 ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships held in Subic, Philippines.

• In 2018, he achieved victory against Sergey Egorov of Russia at the World Series of Boxing in Rohtak, Haryana.

  

• He became a winner at the 2020 World Series of Boxing.

• In 2021, he secured victory in the semi-final match of the Indian National Championships in Bellary, Karnataka, where he faced off against India’s Sagar Chikara.

• In September 2023, he qualified for the quarter-finals of the 19th Asian Games Preliminaries-R16 Men’s +92kg event by defeating his opponent, Oomatbek Elchoro Uulu.

• In the 2022 Asian Games, Narender managed to win the Bronze medal; however, his journey was cut short in the semifinals when he lost to the Olympic medallist Kamshybek Kunkabayev of Kazakhstan with a score of 0-5. This loss prevented him from securing an Olympic quota. ^[2]Times Now
