• On 31 January 2017, US President Donald Trump nominated Gorsuch to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, to fill out the seat left vacant after the death of Justice Antonin Scalia.          

• Gorsuch’s mother Anne Gorsuch Burford served under President Ronald Reagan as the first female Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).                                                                                          

• During his study in Columbia University, Gorsuch wrote columns for the Columbia Daily Spectator student newspaper.

• He co-founded alternative Columbia student newspaper, The Fed in 1986.

• From 1991 to 1992, Gorsuch clerked for Judge David B. Sentelle on the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Thereafter he has worked for United States Supreme Court Justices Byron White and Anthony Kennedy from 1993 to 1994.

• Former President George W. Bush nominated Gorsuch to the seat on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit vacated by Judge David M. Ebel when he took senior status.

• Gorsuch has written two books The Future of Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia and The Law of Judicial Precedent.
