Some Lesser Known Facts About Norma Strait

• Norma Strait and George Strait met in high school.

• They dated on and off for a few years before eloping in Mexico on 4 December 1971.

• George was enrolled in the U.S. Army and was posted in Hawaii after their marriage.

  

• They had two children together. Their daughter, Jenifer, passed away at the age of 13 in a car accident in San Marcos, Texas.

• In 1986, they started the Jenifer Strait Memorial Foundation. The foundation supports charitable causes for children and donates to various nonprofit organizations.

• While George Strait was on tour for his music career, Norma Strait stayed home to raise their son, Bubba.

• She continued staying home until Bubba finished high school and went to college.

  

• In 2019, Norma Strait was featured in the music video of the English song Codigo by George Strait. The video, filmed in Mexico, showed Norma cooking with friends and dancing with George.
