He has served three tenures as a Lok Sabha MP and has held cabinet ministries of various departments such as the Department of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, the Department of Rural Development, the Department of Panchayati Raj, and the Department of Parliamentary Affairs in the Modi government.
  • On 8 December 2003, he was assigned to various cabinet ministries under the government of Madhya Pradesh which included the Ministry of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, the Ministry of Public Relations, the Ministry of Fisheries, and the Ministry of Animal Husbandry.
