• Aaron Jones was born in the USA but moved to Barbados at the age of 3 years.

  

• He played various sports such as cricket and soccer (football) during his childhood but later chose cricket as his professional career.

  

• He played for Barbados at all age-group levels including Under-13, Under-15, and Under-19.

  

• He played alongside many West Indies players such as Shai Hope and Jason Holder while living in Barbados.

• On 7 January 2016, he played his maiden List-A match for Combined Campuses and Colleges against Leeward Islands.

• On 26 October 2017, he made his first-class debut for Barbados against Trinidad & Tobago.

  

• Jones wanted to play for the West Indies national team; however, when he realised that it may never happen, he moved to the USA in search of better opportunities for his cricketing career. Jones had American citizenship due to his parents who had worked in the USA.

  

• After moving to the US, he also took up a coaching job at Core Cricket Academy in North Carolina to sustain himself.

• Jones later played in the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Three for the US national team where he emerged as the highest scorer for his team with 200 runs in 5 matches at an average of 40 which included 2 fifties.

  

• On 21 April 2019, during a match against Namibia in the ICC World Cricket League Division Two, he made his first List-A century with 103 runs in 124 balls which helped the USA gain ODI status for the first time.

  

• In July 2019, he signed a 1-year contract with USA Cricket.

• On 8 November 2021, he scored his first T20I half-century with 50 runs against Bermuda in the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup Americas Region Qualifier.

• On 13 August 2022, he made his first ODI hundred by scoring 123 runs not out against Scotland in the 2019-2022 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.

  

• He made headlines on 1 June 2024 when he helped the USA team chase the target of 195 set by Canada in their opening match of the 2024 T20 World Cup.

  

• He hit 94 runs not out in 40 balls at a strike rate of 235 which included 10 sixes and 4 fours. He was also given ‘Man of the Match’ for his innings.

  

• After his match-winning performance, he said that he believed in his power-hitting abilities and liked batting under pressure.
