• Sam Vanderpump grew up in Potters Bar, England.

• His parents met when his father was installing sound equipment at Prince Andrew’s home, and the royal dog bit him. Sam’s mother, who worked as a private chef there, helped him by bandaging up his wound. They had dinner later, and after a few months, they got engaged.

• Sam started kart racing professionally at the age of 8. He competed in many competitions including the 2009 Formula Kart Stars – Cadet, where he finished 10th. However, he later retired.

• After finishing school, Sam chose not to attend university and worked in various family businesses.

  

• Sam worked as an FX trader at Sovereign International in London from December 2015 to November 2017.

• From January 2018 to June 2018, Sam worked as the sales director at Sovereign International, where he helped businesses and individuals secure competitive foreign exchange rates, streamline international transactions, and navigate market fluctuations.

• In June 2018, Sam co-founded Orbis Exchange Group in London, specialising in deliverable foreign exchange services. He led the company until June 2021.

• Sam Vanderpump’s father passed away in October 2018 at the age of 59. An investigation found that his death was caused by drug toxicity and was ruled as a suicide.

• In June 2021, Sam founded Vanderpump FX in London, and since then, he has been serving as its CEO. The company provides bespoke currency exchange solutions, risk management, and protection services to clients across various sectors.

• In 2022, he spoke at the World Metaverse Show in Dubai.

  

• Since May 2022, Sam has been the managing director and CEO of Dapio, a London-based PayTech startup focused on creating digital banking solutions and simplifying card payments for businesses through mobile apps.

• Sam was first invited to join E4’s reality show ‘Made in Chelsea’ at 21, but he declined as he was in a relationship. He refused a second offer at 24 as his businesses were not established. In 2024, he finally joined the show.

  

• In 2025, Sam opened up about his near-fatal battle with sepsis, caused by a genetic condition that led to liver and kidney failure. In an Instagram post, he mentioned that his girlfriend Alice Yaxley had taken him to a hospital, where doctors said he was just a day away from dying. Though he has recovered, he still struggles with anxiety.

  

• Sam decided to propose to Alice Yaxley, whom he met through a mutual friend named Reza Amiri-Garroussi in July 2024, after his near-death experience with sepsis as he realised how much she meant to him.

• On 23 February 2025, he proposed to Alice in a private boutique jewellery shop viewing room. On 30 March 2025, they announced their engagement on Instagram.
