• Rajendra Shukla is an Indian politician who is known for being announced for the position of Deputy Chief Minister in Madhya Pradesh on 11 December 2023.

• Showing leadership skills at a young age, he took on the role of president of his college in 1986. He played a crucial role in arranging the Youth Conference in 1992.

• In 2003, when he became the MLA for the first time, he became the Cabinet as Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Housing and Environment.

• On 20 December 2008, after becoming the MLA from Rewa constituency, he was given the Ministery of Energy and Mineral Resources which he handled till 3 July 2016. During his tenure as the Energy Minister in Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s cabinet, Shukla played a key role in establishing an airport and the country’s largest solar project in Rewa.

• In 2013, he served in the Cabinet Ministry, overseeing Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion. Additionally, he took on the role of Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation.

• He was the Minister of Industry from 3 July 2016 to 12 December 2018.

• On 26 August 2023, he became the Minister of Public Health Engineering and handled the position till 11 December 2023.

• On 11 December 2023, he was named the Deputy Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.

• During his political career, Shukla faced political challenges in Madhya Pradesh, particularly in his power struggle with party colleague Abhay Mishra who left the BJP, ran as a Congress candidate, and was defeated by Shukla.
