• Apart from cricket, Richard has laboured at various places such as in a boiler factory, a fishing tackle shop, and as a landscape gardener.

• Richard made his first-class debut on 15 August 2015 in the Royal London One-Day Cup against Australia; he took the wickets of both Shaun Marsh and Mitchell Marsh in the match.

• Richard likes to consume alcohol occasionally.

  

• On 8 June 2016, Richard made his List A debut for Northamptonshire in the Royal London One-Day Cup against Lancashire.

• Richard signed a 3-year contract with Northamptonshire in July 2016, earlier he was playing as a part-timer for them while working as a coach with the Lancashire Cricket Board giving coaching sessions in schools and cricket clubs. In 2018, he joined the Lancashire County Cricket Club as a full-time player.
