  • Sandeep’s interest in cricket developed because of his father who used to watch cricket very passionately.
  • Sandeep began playing cricket in Mumbai and played school cricket till the tenth standard. At 16, he returned to Kerala and within 4 years, he made his first-class debut for the Kerala team against Goa on 24 November 2012.

  • Sandeep was bought by the IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2013 on the recommendation of Virat Kohli whom he has impressed as a net bowler in the Indian cricket team training camp in Kochi.

  • In August 2018, Sandeep was suspended for three matches in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy for showing dissent against Kerala’s captain, Sachin Baby.
  • Sandeep took 12 wickets in six matches and was the leading wicket-taker for Kerala in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He was also the leading wicket-taker for Kerala in the group stage of the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy, with 44 wickets in ten matches.
  • In 2021, Sandeep switched sides from Kerala to Tamil Nadu for the domestic cricket season.
  • Sandeep was chosen as a net bowler for the Indian men’s cricket team during the series against England in 2021. Later that same year, he was also selected for the series against Sri Lanka. His inclusion in the main team came after a positive COVID-19 case within the Indian squad, which allowed him to play in the remaining T20 matches of the tour.
