• Siddharth is an Indian actor, producer, screenwriter, and playback singer who is known for working in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films. He gained recognition through his performances in films like ‘Rang De Basanti’ (2006) (Hindi), ‘Bommarillu’ (2006) (Telugu), ‘Kaaviya Thalaivan’ (2014) (Tamil), and ‘Jabardasth’ (2013) (Telugu).

• He was born into a Tamil-speaking family in Chennai.

• He participated in several extra-curricular activities during his college days.

  

• He was the president of his college’s debating team, and he competed in events like the World Debating Championship.

• While studying at Kirori Mal College in New Delhi, Siddharth participated in some theatrical productions. He was a member of the college’s theatre group ‘Players.’ He performed in plays like Howard Brenton’s “Gum & Goo.”

• Siddharth has learnt theatrical skills from Keval Arora, an English professor at Kirori Mal College.

  

• In 1988, he dubbed the Banish Mosquito Repellent advertisement in 8 different languages; this was the first time he worked as a voice-over artist.

• He won a speaking skill competition and earned the CNBC Manager of the Year award in 1999.

• He joined Mani Ratnam‘s Tamil film ‘Kannathil Muthamittal’ as an assistant director in 2002. He also made his first on-screen appearance in the film; he played the role of a bus passenger, which was an uncredited role.

• After debuting as an actor in 2003, he appeared in many Tamil films like ‘Kaaviya Thalaivan’ (2014), ‘Enakkul Oruvan’ (2015), ‘Aruvam’ (2019), and ‘Chithha’ (2023).

• He appeared as ‘Suryakant Sarang’ in the 2010 Hindi-language film ‘Striker,’ which went on to become the first-ever Indian film to premiere on YouTube internationally on the same day as its domestic theatrical release.

  

• Siddharth has also worked in some Hindi-language web series such as Netflix’s ‘Leila’ (2019) and Disney+ Hotstar’s ‘Escaype Live’ (2022) in which he appeared as Bhanu and Krishna Rangaswamy respectively.

  

• He has worked as a voice-over artist in films like the Tamil version of “The Lion King” (2019), where he voiced the character ‘Simba,’ and “Ayalaan” (2024), where he lent his voice to the character ‘Tattoo.’

• Siddharth and Samantha were once in a serious relationship, and Samantha considered getting married to him. They, however, split as her friends told her things about Siddharth, including rumours of him being a womanizer. Samantha was later linked up with actor Naga Chaitanya about which Siddharth once tweeted,
  

  Nagoor biriyani ulundur pettai la irukara naai ku dan kidaikumna adha yaarum matha mudiyadhu. (sic)(Rough translation: If a street dog in Ulundurpettai is destined to get Nagoor biryani, no one can stop it.)”

• On 27 December 2022, Siddharth took to social media to claim that his parents were harassed at the Madurai Airport in Tamil Nadu. He mentioned how his parents were asked to remove coins from their bags, and the officials did not talk in English when requested. Although the security at Madurai Airport is handled by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Siddharth made allegations against the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
