Some Lesser Known Facts About Aalia Neelum
- In 1996, Aalia Neelum began practising law.
- She became an advocate of the Supreme Court in 2008 and joined the Lahore High Court (LHC) in 2013. She became a permanent judge on 16 March 2015.
- As a judge, Aalia Neelum has given more than 203 rulings. She is the first woman to be an administrative judge of anti-terrorism courts in the province.
- She helped set up special courts for gender-based violence cases and developed procedures for recording evidence and statements in e-courts across Punjab, Pakistan.
- Her practice and consulting work included Constitutional Law, White Collar Crime, Civil, Family, Criminal, Public Interest Litigation, NAB, Banking Offences, Special Central Courts Law, and Banking Laws.
- In August 2024, members of the Pakistan Bar Council challenged Aalia Neelum’s appointment as Chief Justice of the Lahore Court.
