• Archana Puran Singh grew up in Dehradun.

  

• In childhood, she used to imitate people around her.

• While she was in school and college, she participated in various sports. She used to be a tomboy during those days.

• After graduating, she wanted to become a model. She then moved to Mumbai to try her luck in modelling.

  

• In Mumbai, she started living in a YWC hostel. She then met a few people including Prahlad Kakkar who helped her to start her modelling career.

• Initially, her father used to send her Rs 1000 every month for her survival in Mumbai.

• Her first ad was for Johnson & Johnson. After appearing in a few TV commercials, she started getting offers of films.

  

• In 1986, she acted in the Hindi TV movie ‘Shingora.’

• She came into the limelight with the Hindi film ‘Jalwa’ (1987) starring Om Puri.

  

• Archana then met the Indian actor Parmeet Sethi at her friend’s house. At that time, Archana was a divorcee and Parmeet had a break-up. They both were not interested in starting a relationship. So, they remain friends for a few months. Later, they started developing feelings for each other and started a live-in relationship. She is a few years older than Parmeet.

• She has acted in many Hindi films like ‘Agneepath’ (1990), ‘Raja Hindustani’ (1996), ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ (1998), ‘Mohabbatein’ (2000), ‘Krrish’ (2006), and ‘Bol Bachchan’ (2012).

• Archana has also acted in films of a few other languages. Some of such films are ‘Naalaya Seidhi’ (1992; Tamil), ‘Pandiyan’ (1992; Tamil), ‘Kondapalli Raja’ (1993; Telugu), ‘Enakku 20 Unakku 18’ (2003; Tamil), and ‘Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu’ (2003; Telugu).

  

• She played the role of a ghost in many episodes of Zee Horror Show in the early 90s.

• As a host, she has worked in a few Hindi TV shows such as ‘Wah, Kya Scene Hai’ (1993), ‘Archana Talkies’ (2000), ‘Kandy Floss’ (2006), and ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 1’ (2006).

  

• She has acted in various Hindi TV serials like ‘Shrimaan Shrimati’ (1994), ‘Jaane Bhi Do Paaro’ (1998), ‘The Great Indian Family Drama’ (2015), and ‘My Name Ijj Lakhan’ (2019).

• She has directed a few Hindi TV shows like ‘Jaane Bhi Do Paro’ (1998) and ‘Nehle Pe Dehla’ (1999).

  

• She produced a Hindi TV show ‘Samne Wali Khidki’ in 2000.

• Though she is not very fond of dancing, she participated in the Hindi celebrity couple dance show Nach Baliye 1 (2005) along with her husband Parmeet Sethi.

  

• She has also judged a few Hindi TV shows such as ‘Comedy Circus’ (2007), ‘Comedy Classes’ (2015), and ‘India’s Laughter Champion’ (2022).

  

• Archana has appeared in a few Hindi TV comedy shows like The Kapil Sharma Show (2019) and The Great Indian Kapil Show (2024).

  

• Archana once shared that she used to fake laugh in various comedy shows. However, when she started getting criticism for it, she started avoiding fake laughs.

• She has been featured on the cover of various magazines like Bombay The City Magazine and Society.

  

• She is an avid animal lover and owns two pet dogs named Patch and Drama.

  

• Archana is often spotted drinking alcohol.

• During the COVID-19 lockdown in India, she shared a few videos of her conversation with her maid which became very popular on YouTube and Instagram.

• In January 2025, she was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai, where she underwent surgery after fracturing her wrist while shooting for a film. She also sustained injuries to her face.
