• In 2023, Osama was remanded in judicial custody in Siwan in an extortion case, ahead of his electoral debut.

• Osama Shahab entered active politics in 2024 by joining the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) along with his mother, thereby reviving his family’s local political legacy.

  

• In 2025, he was selected as the RJD candidate from the Raghunathpur Assembly constituency in Bihar.

• According to his election affidavit for the 2025 Bihar Assembly polls, he declared total assets of around ₹8 crore and movable assets of approximately ₹82.5 lakh which are quite high for a political debutant.
