  • Urmila Rosario is an Indian sports manager who has managed various events and teams such as the Australian women’s team for many years. She made headlines for managing the Australian men’s team that won the 2023 ODI World Cup held in India.
  • Her parents migrated to Qatar in 1978 before she was born and worked there for around 4 decades before returning and settling in India. She did her schooling in Qatar.

  • During her teenage years, she played many types of sports including tennis, basketball, tennis, and rowing and suffered many injuries such as fractures in her legs on multiple occasions. She also took lessons from the former Indian international player and coach, Krishan Bhupathi, at Bhupathi Tennis Village in Udupi, but due to her injuries, she was not able to achieve the fitness required for international competitions and decided to make a career in sports management.

  • Urmila Rosario worked as a deputy photo media manager during the 2006 Asian Games (officially known as the XV Asiad) held in Doha from October 2006 to December 2006. She was a media assistant during the 2007 Qatar Athletics Super Grand Prix from April to May 2007. She became an intern at the Global Sport Fund of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) from May to August 2008.

  • She worked as a marketing coordinator at beIN SPORTS from May to August 2010. She was a championships coordinator at the Qatar Tennis Federation from August 2010 to March 2015. She became a competition coordinator from August 2015 to May 2016, and a team operations officer for men’s programs at the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) in Adelaide from June 2016 to April 2019.
