Some Lesser Known Facts About Shruti Ulfat

• She was brought up in Dehradun.

  

• While studying in school, she took part in and won many accolades in inter-school basketball, hockey, and badminton tournaments. She was also the captain of the school’s badminton team.

• Shruti Ulfat had always been active in her school plays and skits. She also took a keen interest in sports and was part of her school’s sports team.

• She developed a passion for cooking as a child. She even had home science in school.

  

• Shruti has also played basketball at the national level.

• Shruti was a day scholar in her school from class 1 till class 10. She shifted to the school’s hostel in class 11.

• She was also part of the school’s drama club.

• Her first job was as a sales girl in New Delhi in a store named Weekender. She used to work there for six hours a day and received Rs. 2000 as a salary.

• She wanted to enrol at Delhi University. She, however, dropped the idea as she could not stay away from her family for long.

• She was inspired by the TV show Udaan (1989) and wanted to become a Police officer.

• She married her college mate and friend from the theatre group Alok Ulfat. They worked together in theatre for seventeen years.

• She is a fitness lover. She goes to the gym and practices yoga to stay fit. She also likes to go on a run.

  

• Shruti enjoys being close to nature.

• Shruti has acted in many plays in different places such as New Delhi, Dehradun, and Mumbai.

• She is a fan of the IPL team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and wears a pair of yellow socks whenever the team plays in the tournament. She also has a Number 7 jersey of the CSK signed by Dhoni. In an interview, she talked about it and said,
  

  I wear my lucky pair of yellow socks to every one of their matches, and since we keep winning, it has turned into a superstition for me.”

  

• Her first car was a Maruti Suzuki Esteem.

• Aamir Khan was her favourite actor when she was in school. She collected many postcards with his picture on them.

• She is a trained dancer and a singer.

• As per Shruti, she landed a role in her debut film after she was introduced to the film’s producer by Alok Ulfat.

• In 2018, Shruti Ulfat participated in the Box Cricket League (BCL). She played in the Delhi Dragons.

  

• Some of her popular films are Raaz (2002) as Priya, Mr. X (2015) as Madhuri, and Sooryavanshi (2021) as Nafeesa Hafeez.

  

• Shruti is multi-lingual and is fluent in Hindi, English, Garhwali, and Gurkhali.
