• Sini Shetty is an Indian model, dancer, and actor who was crowned Femina Miss India 2022.

• Since childhood, Shetty was fond of dancing and started taking dance lessons at the age of four.

  

• At 14, she completed her Arangetram in Bharatanatyam under renowned Indian classical dancer Padmini Radhakrishnan; Arangetram refers to the debut on-stage performance of an Indian classical dancer on the completion of his or her training in which the guru presents their pupil to the public. Additionally, she also took dance training at Dancepeople Studio by Melvin Louis in Mumbai.

• After completing her bachelor’s degree, she pursued an internship following which she was hired by a marketing company. However, her artistic instincts led her to pursue a career as a dancer and model.

• She has worked as a model for various recognised brands like Pantaloons, Sugar, Global Desi, and Disrupt.

  

• In 2020, she appeared in Airtel’s TV advertisement.

• To brush up on her skills for Femina Miss India World 2022, she enrolled in the Mumbai-based modelling and pageant training company Cocoaberry. There, she secured the position of the second runner-up in the Cocoaberry Diva in the May 2022 batch.

  

• She came into the limelight on 3 July 2022 when she was crowned Femina Miss India World 2022 at Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai. Miss India World 2020 Manasa Varanasi presented her with the prestigious crown. Additionally, Rubal Shekhawat, who represented Rajasthan, became the Femina Miss India 2022 first runner-up, and Shinata Chauhan, who represented Uttar Pradesh, was named Femina Miss India 2022 second runner-up.
  

  

  

• During the pageant’s sub-contests, she won the titles ‘Times Miss Body Beautiful’ and ‘INIFD Miss Talented’.

  

• Sini took part in the 71st Miss World pageant on 9 March 2024. She made it to the top eight finalists in the event, which was hosted at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. During the Q&A round in the finale, she was asked ‘Can you suggest a way that women can be empowered through social media?’ to which she replied,
  

  Today…we live in a world where social media is of such power…that conversation & awareness can create change… Living in Generation Z, [we can create] conversation & awareness around…how women empowerment can take…recourse towards progressive march & perfection.

  

• Apart from Bharatanatyam, the skilled dancer also performs Bollywood-style Qbop and hip-hop choreographies, and she frequently uploads dance videos on her self-titled YouTube channel and Instagram account.

• In an interview, Shetty talked about her inspiration, Priyanka Chopra, and said,
  

  Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra, when you look up to a person some of their words get stuck by you. The aspiration value increases, I remember hearing a interview of hers where she stated, ‘Don’t try to squeeze into a glass slipper. Instead, shatter the glass ceiling.’ I have been a fan ever since.”

• Shetty is a philanthrope and an avid dog lover. In an interview, she said,
  

  If God would grant me one wish, it would definitely be that nobody goes to bed hungry. And if I get one extra wish it would be that I automatically get dog treats as soon as I see a dog.”

• Sini, along with the Child Help Foundation, launched a fundraiser on the crowdfunding website Ketto to provide emergency medical treatment in India.

• Her favourite film is Into the Wild (2007).
