• Rakesh Sawant is an Indian filmmaker, producer, writer, and music video director, who is known for working in the Hindi film industry. He is the younger brother of Rakhi Sawant, a popular Indian dancer, model, and actress.

• He is the owner of Jaya Films production house and Jaya Music labels, which he founded in 2000.

• In 2006, his second directorial venture was a thriller film titled ‘Hello? Kaun Hai!.’ In the same year, he directed the Hindi mystery film ‘Hot Money;’ his sister, Rakhi Sawant, also made a brief appearance in the film.

  

• He directed the Hindi mystery romance film ‘Wafaa’ starring Rajesh Khanna as Amritlal Chopra released in 2008.

  

• In 2012, he released his next directorial venture ‘Jaanleva Black Blood,’ a Hindi mystery film.

• He was the producer of the Hindi version of the Australian action war film ‘Battle Ground,’ which was released in 2013.

• Rakesh Sawant is a music director and has directed many music videos. In 2017, he created his YouTube channel, Jaya’s Music, which has more than 35k subscribers. On 14 February 2022, he released the music video of the song ‘Koi Yaad Aa Gaya’ by Raj Barman from the album ‘Love Jihad’ on his YouTube channel; the music video of the song was directed and choreographed by him.

• On 19 February 2022, he released the music video of the song ‘Mizaaj’ by Raj Barman from the album ‘Love Jihad 2;’ he directed and choreographed the music video of the song. On the same day, he released the music video of the song ‘Aaj Kal Khab’ by Kumar Sanu and Mishtu Bardhan from the album ‘Love Jihad 3;’ the music video of the song was directed and choreographed by him and he also wrote the story fo the music video of the song.

  

• On 7 march 2022, he released the music video of the song ‘Lover Boy’ by Raju Punjabi, which was directed by him.

• Rakhi Sawant, his sister, has made brief appearances in numerous Hindi, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil films. According to sources, the media often refers to her as the Drama Queen and Controversy Queen in the Industry.

• On 29 May 2022, Rakhi Sawant and Adil Khan Durrani, a businessman, had a nikah ceremony. She got married to Adil Khan Durrani in court on 2 July 2022. In 2023, after rakhi found out about Adil’s extra-marital affair with Tanu Chandel, she announced her separation from Adil in February 2023. In an interview, Rakhi talked about this matter and said,
  

  Adil ne finally decision le liya ki woh Tanu ke saath rehenge. Kal unhone bol diya mujhe, ki mai jaa raha hoon tumhe chod ke, mai Tanu ke saath rahunga. • On 19 January 2023, Rakhi Sawant was arrested by the police in Mumbai after Sherlyn Chopra filed a complaint again her in November 2022 for defamation and sexual harassment. ^[5]Hindustan Times Rakesh Sawant accompanied Rakhi Sawant to the police station. In an interview, he criticised Sherlyn Chopra for getting her sister arrested by the police and said,
  

  Sherlyn tum aayi kaha se ho? Tum bahar se ayi ho. Yaha ki paidaish ko kya? Tumhari itni aukaat hai kya? Rakhi yaha hi hain, Rakhi Maharashtrian hain. Tum aake kuch aisi vaisi harkatein karoge, jo hamari nayi ladkiyan industry mein aane wali hain, jo bacche industry mein aane wale hain, unpe kya asar padega?” ^[6]India Today

• On 29 January 2023, Jaya Bheda, his mother passed away after battling cancer. In one of her last interviews, she said that as her last wish, she wanted her son, Rakesh Sawant, to work with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. ^[7]The Times of India

• In February 2022, Rakhi Sawant filed a complaint against Adil Khan Durrani at the Oshiwara Police Station. Allegedly, Adil Khan Durrani thrashed her and stole all of her money and jewellery. Adil was booked under  IPC sections 406 and 420 and was called for questioning. In an interview, Rakesh Sawant talked about the matter and said that the next day after the demise of their mother, he, along with some of his relatives, went to Rakhi’s house to feed her and found her crying. Her face was swollen, and when the relatives asked her about the matter, she revealed that Adil thrashed her on the same day their mother died. First, he took her to the hospital and then went to the police station to file an FIR against Adil. Rakesh Sawant said,
  

  Never thought that he will stoop down to such a level. We even forgave two or three times. The next day after the demise of our mother, when we went to Rakhi’s house to feed her, that time we noticed Rakhi’s face is swollen. She was crying, when our relatives asked her then she revealed that Adil has beaten her on the same day our mother passed away. And when we saw marks on Rakhi’s body, we got so angry that we requested Rakhi to get her medical done at Cooper hospital. Ahead of our mother’s 13th-day ritual, Rakhi’s and her mother’s jewellery and money were stolen. I spoke to Adil on the same day he raised his hand on my sister. He misbehaved with us over the call and he said it was our personal matter. But he can’t misbehave like this. And those who say Hindus and Muslims should unite in today’s time. • In a 2023 interview, Rakesh Sawant revealed that after he released the music video of the song ‘Koi Yaad Aa Gaya’ by Raj Barman from the album ‘Love Jihad’ in 2022, he asked Rakhi Sawant to promote the song on her social media.
