Some Lesser Known Facts About Giulia

When Giulia was 1 year old, she moved back to Japan from London with her family and was raised there.

Giulia was once put on an IV drip in her childhood because she used to eat less and due to it, she became malnourished.

After her parents’ divorce, Giulia’s father moved out of the family business and to help her mother, Giulia started working at her restaurant. She was 16 at that time and when she turned 18 she became the manager of it.

In an interview, Giulia once disclosed that in her childhood, she was a victim of bullying due to her mixed race. Due to this, she had to attend a private school in her childhood.

Giulia was in fifth grade when she had her first fight after her classmate tried to bully her younger brother. Once in an interview, she stated that it was the point which changed her life and said,

That’s when it started. If someone hit me, I’d hit them back, and if they said something to me, I’d always say something back. Then I became more and more aggressive, like, ‘What are they going to do to me next?’ I was scared, but most of all I didn’t want to lose.”

At 20, Giulia discovered special effects makeup and artistic makeup in Miami when she went to the United States on a trip for a month. Inspired by it, Giulia joined a vocational school for hair and makeup after she returned to Japan.

Giulia’s interest developed in pro wrestling when she used to work at a cabaret club. A customer who liked to watch pro wrestling used to take her with him and from there she was drawn into it, particularly Ice Ribbon.

In 2017, Giulia started her professional wrestling journey with Ice Ribbon, a Japanese wrestling promotion.

Giulia won her first singles Ice Ribbon match against Asahi on 24 September 2018.

Giulia signed with World Wonder Ring Stardom on 14 October 2019 and made her in-ring debut on Stardom against Reo Hazuki on 8th December 2019.

On 26 July 2020, Giulia won the Wonder of Stardom Championship after she defeated Tam Nakano in the finals of a four-woman tournament. She successfully defended her title for the first time after she won against Nakano in a rematch on 3 October.

Giulia’s reign of 220 days ended after she lost a hair vs hair match for the Wonder of Stardom Championship to Nakano Tam at the Nippon Budokan in March 2021. As a result, she had to shave her head and even lost the Wonder championship title.

On December 29 2022, Giulia won the World of Stardom Championship title for the first time in her career after she defeated Syuri at the Dream Queendom 2 event.

Between 2020 and 2024, Giulia also participated in New Japan Pro-Wrestling along with the World Wonder Ring Stardom to promote female talent.

Giulia announced her new promotion Dream Star Fighting Marigold in a press conference on 15 April 2024.

Before moving to WWE, Giulia played her last Dream Star Fighting Marigold match against Mai Sakurai on 19 August 2024.

Giulia signed a contract with WWE in April 2024.
