• Ashmit Patel grew up in Mumbai.

  

• His name is a combination of his parents’ names; Ash (from his mother’s name Asha) and Mit (from his father’s name Amit).

• While in school, he participated in various sports like cricket, football, table tennis, tennis, rugby, and hockey. He was the captain of his rugby school team. He also participated in gymnastics.

  

• He was a classmate of the Indian actress Tanishaa Mukerji in school. He had a crush on her.

• After completing his schooling, he started his professional training in rugby at Bombay Gymkhana, but after he had a knee injury, he left the sport.
