• Dr Raj Kanodia grew up in Kolkata, India. He is recognised as one of the leading plastic surgeons in the world, particularly for his closed (scarless) rhinoplasty technique, which leaves no visible marks.

• He belongs to a conservative middle-class, well-educated family. His father worked in the insurance sector. He is the second of his six siblings.

• In an interview, Raj mentioned that as a child, he always preferred hanging out with friends who were a couple of years older than him.

• After completing his medical studies, Dr Kanodia moved to the United States for further training in medicine.

• In 1972, he completed his internship at Loyola University Medical Centre, formerly known as Loyola MacNeal Hospital, in Chicago.

• From 1973 to 1977, Dr Raj completed his residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Loyola University Medical Centre in Chicago.

• In 1997, Dr Kanodia completed a fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology with a focus on facial plastic surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago.

• In that same year, he passed both the written and oral exams for the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

• Raj Kanodia is a full fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

• Later, he became board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology.

• In an interview, Raj revealed that during his early years in Beverly Hills, he was known to host private gatherings at his guesthouse for various Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities.

• In 1979, Raj established his skin clinic named Kanodia Medspa in Beverly Hills, California, where he continues to operate till today.

• In 1993, his career took a turning point when he performed a rhinoplasty on former US President Bill Clinton. He also performed an endoscopic brow lift on Senator Bob Dole. He utilised computer graphics to plan these procedures.

• With 4 decades of experience in closed rhinoplasty, Raj has performed more than 9000 surgeries. In an interview, he once mentioned that he charges approximately $14,000 to $25,000 per rhinoplasty surgery.

• Dr Raj Kanodia is one of the very few plastic surgeons in the world who perform only closed rhinoplasty. With this technique, all the incisions are created inside the nose.

• Raj Kanodia has participated in many plastic surgeon and celebrity shows, including Dr 90210 and E!.

• In an interview, Raj revealed that he typically performs around 15 to 20 Botox treatments and nose jobs each day. Out of his roughly 20 bookings, 50 per cent are clients from Hollywood and Bollywood, and most of the time, he has patients flying in from London.

• He owns a lavish mansion worth $ 180 million in Beverly Hills.

• Dr Raj is the founder of a cosmetic product brand named Dr. Kanodia Ayur-Medic, where he blends Ayurvedic skincare with modern dermatology.

• He has worked with numerous Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities, including Khloé Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Ashlee Simpson, Cindy Crawford, Charli D’Amelio, and Jennifer Aniston.

  

• In 2024, Raj attended the wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, where he was photographed with Kim Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian, as well as Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor.

• In July 2025, Raj Kanodia recently came into the limelight after Khloé Kardashian featured him in her Instagram story. She complimented him for giving her a beautifully refined nose and helping her achieve a radiant appearance. This endorsement from a world-famous celebrity quickly attracted media attention and brought Dr. Kanodia back into the spotlight.
