• On 21 June 2025, Lishalliny Kanaran visited the Mariamman Temple in Sepang, Malaysia, where a priest she trusted offered her “holy water” and a protective thread as part of a blessing.

• She alleged that the priest splashed her with a strong-smelling liquid that irritated her eye and then touched her inappropriately, pretending it was part of a ritual. When she refused to undress, he criticised her for wearing tight clothes and continued his actions.

• On 4 July 2025, she filed a police complaint against the priest, but he had already fled by the time officers reached the temple.

• On 7 July 2025, Lishalliny took it to Instagram to share the incident. She revealed that, although the priest had been reported before, no action was taken, and the temple seemed more focused on its reputation. She added that she was told to stay silent, but she chose to speak out.
