Some Lesser Known Facts About Neha Mahajan

• Neha Mahajan is an Indian actor and model who works predominantly in Marathi and Hindi Films. She is also a professional Sitar player.

• She grew up watching her father play the Sitar and this further deepened her interest in performing arts. She became her father’s disciple and started getting professional training from him. She even accompanied her during performances on stage. ^[3]Neha Mahajan

• In order to pursue theatre and acting, Neha went to Trimble Tech High School in Texas on a scholarship before earning her master’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Pune.

• While she was still studying, directors Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukathanar noticed her and cast her in their Hindi short film Bewaqt Barish in 2007.

• Later in 2012, she was roped in by director Deepa Mehta for her movie Midnight’s Children which is an adaptation of Salman Rushdie’s novel.

• She played the character of Ophelia in the Marathi translation of the world-famous play Hamlet; the play was directed by Madhav Vaze’s stage production in 2013.

• In 2014, Neha got her Marathi as well as Hindi debut movies, ‘Ajoba’ and ‘Feast of Varanasi’ respectively.

• She did several other movies including, Marathi classic Coffee Ani Barach Kahi (2015), One Way Ticket (2016), and Tujha Tu Majha Mi (2017).

• In 2015, Neha acted in her Malayalam debut film titled ‘The Painted House’.

• Later, she did various other movies such as Rohit Shetty’s Simba (2018), Deepa Mehta’s Leila (2019), and Chris Hemsworth starrer Extraction (2020).

  

• Neha Mahajan collaborated with Ricky Martin for the song ‘Mi Sangre’ for his album Pausa which got nominated for Grammy Award (2020) in the category – Best Latin Pop or Urban Album. ^[4]Neha Mahajan

• She has a pet dog Bindoo, which is a German Shepherd.
