- He was introduced to Cricket by Rosemary Dismore, who employed his mother as a domestic worker.
- With the help of Rosemary, he got the hockey scholarship from Glenwood High School, Durban, South Africa.
- He also received the Daily News UKZN School Sports Star of the year award at Independent Newspapers.
- He later decided to be a cricketer as it was financially more helpful.
- In 2014, he was selected for the South Africa Under-19 World Cup but was played in only one match.
- In the same year, he started playing with the Dolphins cricket team in the Champions League T20.
- He later earned a place in top XI players of South Africa and played against England in Kimberley, Northern Cape, South Africa.
- In 2016, he earned the maximum wickets for South Africa in ODI that played against Australia. In that series, South Africa also clean sweep with 5-0 against Australia.
- After playing in only 24 first-class games, he got the chance to play against England in Test match series.
