• Asad Abbas was a Pakistani singer, who was well-known for singing in season 6 of ‘Coke Studio.’ In 2023, he died at the age of 38 after suffering from kidney-related health complications.

• In 2008, he initiated his singing career by competing in a Pakistani singing reality TV show called ‘Sangeet Icon’ season 1 and emerged as the winner of the show.

He had also utilized the 10 million Pakistani rupees he had won in a music competition and had resorted to selling his Mercedes. According to sources, he was dealing with kidney disease and was undergoing dialysis four days a week. He also said that he needed 50 million Pakistani rupees for his treatment, but was encountering hurdles in securing the funds. During an interview with a Pakistani news agency, he appealed for financial assistance, he said,
  

  I am undergoing dialysis, ‘mujhe doctors ne jawab dediya hai’ (Doctors aren’t hopeful). They say I need to be shifted to America for treatment, just like Alamgir. I am in need of financial assistance and I would urge the government to provide me with that. I have no car, and a family to support. I have been suffering from this ailment for seven years and now, both my kidneys have failed. They tried to do a kidney transplant earlier but it was unsuccessful. I have also been a singer for Mekaal Hasan Band, won a Lux Style Award, a Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and I have served my country as an artist for many years.” ^[4]The Express Tribune
