• Kavita Kaushik grew up in Uttarakhand and Delhi.

  

• She started working as a host at various events while she was studying in college. For her first event as a host, she received Rs 1500. ^[10]The Times of India

• She was selected from an audition held in New Delhi for the serial ‘Kutumb’ in 2001.

• She gained immense popularity for her role as ‘Chandramukhi Chautala’ in the SAB TV Hindi series ‘F.I.R.’ (2006-2015).

• She Hindi dubbed for the character of Mittens/Milli (originally by Susie Essman) for the English animated film ‘Bolt’ in 2008.

• In 2020, she participated in the Colors reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss Season 14’ as one of the wild card entries. While she was in the house, she shared that in childhood she was sexually exploited by her Maths tuition teacher.

  

• Kavita has appeared in various Hindi films like ‘Mumbai Cutting’ (2008), ‘Phillum City’ (2011), and ‘Zanjeer’ (2013; also in Telugu).

• In 2022, she sang a song for the Hindi web series ‘Tera Chhalaava.’ The series was streamed on MX Player.

• In July 2024, she announced her decision to leave the television industry due to its regressive content. She said,
  

  The kind of regression we show in our reality shows and drama makes people hate each other. I have been a part of it as well and I am very sorry. I have contributed to that regression in some way. I don’t approve of what they show on television. Jo bhi bolo, hum Indians hain and hume lagta hai jo TV par dikh raha hai vo sach hain (At the end of the day, we are Indians and we think whatever is shown in television is the truth).
