• Scooter Braun grew up in a Conservative Jewish family in New York City.

• Scooter’s parents lived in Hungary till 1956, and after that, they moved to the United States and settled in Cos Cob, Connecticut, USA.

• Braun attended Emory University and played college basketball. During his second year, he dropped out to pursue his music career.

• When he was attending Emory University, Braun started organising events and parties at the university.

• In 2002, Sccoter Braun was hired by the Anger Management Tour to plan Ludacris and Eminem’s tour in five cities. At one of the events, he met Jermaine Dupri, the founder of So So Def Records and offered him a job as So So Def’s executive director of marketing.

• During that time, the other major events he organised included the NBA All-Star Game and after-parties for Britney Spears’ 2004 Onyx Hotel Tour.

• In 2005, Braun left So So Def. After a few weeks of leaving So So Def, he got a $12 million campaign deal between Ludacris and Pontiac.

• Later, he was hired as an entertainment consultant for the Atlanta Hawks, a basketball team in Atlanta.

• In 2007, Braun founded an entertainment and marketing company, SB Projects, in New York City, that includes different record ventures such as Schoolboy Records, SB Management, and Sheba Publishing, a music publishing firm. The group also included RBMG, a joint venture between Braun and Usher. School Boy Records was founded as a joint venture with Universal Music Publishing Group.

• In 2008, Scooter Braun spotted Justin Bieber on YouTube after he accidentally clicked on a video of Bieber singing. Braun encouraged Bieber’s mother, Pattie Mallette, to bring her son to Atlanta to record demos and meet R&B singer Usher. He ultimately convinced them to move permanently from Canada to the United States.
