• Vijayakanth Viyaskanth started playing cricket at a young age with his friends in his neighbourhood.

  

• He later started playing school cricket in 2015 as a medium pacer but later switched to spin bowling to avoid injuries.

  

• He made headlines when he was selected for the Sri Lanka Under-19 team during their series against India Under-19 in 2018.

• Viyaskanth was included in Sri Lankan domestic cricket through the talent hunt program of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.
