- Dr Pragya Siddharth is an Indian doctor. She is the daughter of the BSP politician Ashok Siddharth. On 26 March 2023, she got married to the BSP head Mayawati’s nephew Akash Anand.
- She met Akash Anand in London, where both of them were pursuing their post-graduation.
- Their marriage was performed according to the Buddhist rituals, and to conduct their marriage, Buddhist monks (Bhante) from Sarnath and Kushinagar, Lucknow were invited.
- Their wedding ceremony was held in Gurgaon and the reception was in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
- Pragya’s father was also a doctor; however, he left his job in 2008 and entered politics with Mayawati. He became the MLC in 2009, and later, served as a member of the Rajya Sabha (upper house of the Indian Parliament) for six years.
