Some Lesser Known Facts About Jorge Javier Vázquez

• At 25, Jorge started working as an editor for the teen magazine Super Pop and celebrity and women’s magazine Pronto after he moved to Madrid.

• Jorge rose to stardom in 2003 when he began to appear on the TV show Aquí hay tomate.

  

• In May 2011, Jorge became the main host of Supervivientes: Perdidos en Honduras (the eighth season of Survivor Spain), the most-watched season of the series in Spain. He hosted the show from the 9th season until the 14th season.

• On 8 November 2012, Jorge published an autobiographical novel titled La vida iba en serio.

  

• Vázquez stepped into theatre production with the musical Miguel de Molina al desnudo, which premiered at the Teatro Echegaray in Málaga on 3 October 2014

• On 22 September 2015, Jorge released his second autobiographical novel, titled Último verano de juventud.

• Jorge is an animal lover. He lives with several Greyhounds and a donkey.

  

• Vázquez became the main host of the TV show Gran Hermano in September 2016 in its seventeenth season. He also hosted the sixth season of Gran Hermano VIP (2018), and the first season of Gran Hermano Dúo (2019).

• Vázquez’s play Iba en serio was a musical adaptation of his first autobiographical novel, which premiered at the Teatro Cervantes in Málaga on 4 September 2015.

• Vázquez was one of the producers of the musical comedy film “Holy Camp!,” released in 2017.

• Jorge starred in Shakira‘s musical album Grandes Éxitos in 2018.

  

• Vázquez was announced as the host of the new weeknight chat show Cuentos Chinos in 2023. The show was believed to be Telecinco’s response to El Hormiguero.

• Jorge owns a mansion in the Moncloa-Aravaca district of  Madrid, Spain. His 700 m² home is located on a large 2,000 m² plot and has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, and a large open-plan living room.

• In September 2024, Jorge appeared as the host of the reality show, Gran Hermano Season 19 aired on Telecinco.
